Nikola Tesla’s Ill-Fated Battle with J.P. Morgan
Was Tesla's vision for a "World Wireless" energy system destined to fail?
This is an excerpt from my new book The Coming World Nation, which is now available on Amazon! It is taken from Chapter 5 (“The Classified Science of Nikola Tesla”) and is titled “Nikola Tesla’s Ill-Fated Battle with J.P. Morgan.”
It starts off with a call-back to the topic of the Kali Yuga, which is the main theme discussed in the book’s introduction. Later on, it references the concept of Etheric energy, discussing how Tesla wanted to transform the global economy based on a new energy technology he had invented which draws upon the ambient Etheric field of the Earth and wirelessly distributes it. JP Morgan, a major shareholder in General Electric and financial backer of Thomas Edison’s oligarch-friendly electrical grid, resisted Tesla’s efforts and essentially destroyed his career, with Tesla never getting the chance to complete his invention.
The central idea of this section is to triangulate together Nikola Tesla (the visionary), JP Morgan (the force of resistance), and the Kali Yuga (the astrological environment in which their interaction took place).
Given that mankind was still firmly locked within dark age of the Kali Yuga at the time that Tesla was attempting to realize his vision for World Wireless, were his plans destined for failure?
Was mankind not yet ready to wield the Promethean power bestowed to it by his technology and was JP Morgan the “agent of destiny” sent to destroy his vision and thereby forestall the global transformation that it portended?
In this book’s introductory essay, I discussed the idea that for the past five millennia, mankind has been trapped within a cosmic dark age - what the Hindus call the Kali Yuga and Plato the Age of Iron. A survey of human civilization during this era seems to confirm this notion, revealing the archetypal themes of this dark age manifesting in myriad ways: the rise and fall of empires; the decline of mysticism and spirituality; the general increase in greed, egotism, and materialism; and the rise of an antagonistic relationship between mankind and nature - just to name a few.
According to Yuga scholar Bibhu Dev Misra, the Kali Yuga is prophesied to approach its final conclusion sometime in the near future, with this transition occurring not all at once but rather in stages over an extended period of time. As this shift occurs, civilization is set to undergo profound changes, as will the orientation of human consciousness.
If it is true that mankind has been trapped within a cosmic dark age for thousands of years, then we should expect to find the themes of this dark age expressed consistently throughout the era, with long-developing historical patterns extending between its beginning, midpoint, and end. By implication, during this timespan we shouldn’t expect to find a sudden event or circumstance occur that is out of character with the age’s archetypal themes.
The philosophy of time cycles demands that certain types of experiential environments are maintained on Earth during certain preordained time periods. Human souls who incarnate during these periods do so to work through their inner karma and grow incrementally toward self-realization and individuation. During the Kali Yuga, the environment created on Earth is one of tremendous challenge; the humans who incarnate during this period do so because karmically they require the experiences and lessons it has to offer.
As you can see, the hardship brought on by the Kali Yuga is not arbitrary but part of a larger cycle of spiritual development that is immense in duration. Because of its importance to Nature’s evolutionary processes, during the allotted span of time it is set to last, a complex array of synchronicities take place to ensure its archetypal themes are kept in tact. Often, these synchronicities have the effect of foiling, suppressing, and delaying the work of visionaries who attempt to prematurely bring fundamental transformation to the world system. Their heart is the right place, but they have been fated to incarnate during a time that is inherently resistant to their idealism.
Institutions like oligarchy, empire, financial capitalism, and slavery have persisted throughout the Kali Yuga because they are vehicles through which its archetypal qualities are made manifest. Only at the appointed time - once the age is ready to finally end - will the momentum of synchronicity shift and mankind find itself put in a position to finally address and overcome these challenges, synthesizing them into a new and higher stage of civilization.
To summarize: in accordance with the philosophy of time cycles, transformative evolutionary leaps only become possible at cosmically pre-ordained “power points” in time. Today, we are approaching one of these critical power points - the ending of the Kali Yuga, implying that change is finally becoming possible today in a way that it never has been before.
125 years ago, when rudimentary “flying airships” were darting around the American West and Nikola Tesla was plotting to develop his World Wireless energy system right under the nose of JP Morgan, the world was not yet ready to launch into the type of radical social and spiritual transformation that these technologies portended. Consequently, Kali symbolically rose up to resist these motions, manifesting its influence through a synchrony of persons, institutions, and events, which came together to halt their progress and keep the Etheric energy paradigm sequestered for another hundred years.
It’s as if the gods had decreed from on high that humanity - still trapped in a dark-age mindset - wasn’t ready yet to take on the immense responsibilities that come with wielding the Promethean power of Etheric energy. So they orchestrated a series of synchronicities to keep the paradigm sequestered, preserving its revelation for a future, more cosmically-appropriate date, when mankind has matured a bit more.
In the meantime, an intense environment of spiritual challenge was to be maintained on Earth, forcing mankind to continue to engage with the negative consequences of materialism, egotism, and pride - three sins that have plagued humanity and kept it trapped in a cycle of suffering for ages. This pressure-filled period of time is like an initiation portal that mankind has been entered into, forcing us to confront the negative karma within ourselves that Kali acts upon and uses to bring about our destruction. In this way, the Kali Yuga services our long-term evolutionary growth, though in the short-term it brings us much pain and suffering.
This perspective colors how I evaluate the career of Nikola Tesla: his inventions represented an opportunity for radical transformation that mankind was not yet ready to seize and which fate was not yet willing to support.
In this light, JP Morgan - the oligarch who opposed Tesla’s transformative vision and helped foil his career - behaved in precise accordance with the Kali Yuga’s archetypal themes, acting as a powerful force of resistance against the possibility of mankind making a premature leap forward. Symbolically, Morgan served as an incarnation of the Dweller on the Threshold, an archetypal adversary whose collective function is to “guard the gateway into transcendence”, holding off mankind’s entry until into a new and better age until such time that it settles its karma and earns the right to enter.
A similar dynamic as that between Tesla and Morgan occurred in the relationship between Peter Mennis and the mysterious Prussian NYMZA organization, who tempted the genius inventor with the opportunity to weaponize his inventions and then killed him when he refused. Like Morgan, NYMZA also served as an instrument of fate; an embodiment in institutional form of the same Dweller on the Threshold archetype that figures like Morgan and Rockefeller also personified.
Since the time of Tesla and Mennis, other ambitious inventors and scientists have attempted to bring the Promethean fire of Etheric energy to the masses. And every time they meet an adversary who conspires to halt their progress and sequester their discoveries. In each case, a common archetype is being encountered and it’s important to keep this in mind as we continue to investigate the lost science of Etheric energy.
Tesla, Mennis, and other fellow pioneers in the Etheric energy field (like Adam Trombly and Viktor Schauberger, who we will be discussing later) all seem as if they were born out of time, driven by the urge to bring something transcendent to mankind but destined to be foiled by larger forces outside of their control.
In Tesla’s case, it was his ill-fated encounter with JP Morgan, the premiere oligarch of his day, that spelled doom for his ambitions to harness the power of Etheric energy and bestow it to his fellow man, transforming civilization forever. Upon learning of Tesla’s plans to create a global wireless energy system using the Ether as its power source - a system that couldn’t be metered and controlled in the same way that Edison’s wired electrical grid could - Morgan moved quickly to shut down Tesla's work, effectively ending his career.
It’s interesting to note that Tesla’s initial conceptualization of the idea for a worldwide wireless energy system came to him intuitively from inward contemplation and visualization. In a 1930 article titled “Man’s Greatest Achievement”, Tesla describes how, during a period of “intense concentration, I was fortunate enough to make two far-reaching discoveries:”
“The first was a dynamic theory of gravity, which I have worked out in all (its) details and hope to give to the world very soon. It explains the causes of this force and the motions of heavenly bodies under its influence so satisfactorily that it will put an end to idle speculation and false conceptions, as that of curved space.” (Note the dig at Einstein.)
Tesla rooted his new theory of gravity in the by-then abandoned Ether model, arguing that “only the existence of a field of force can account for the motions of the bodies as observed and its assumption dispenses with space curvature. All literature on this subject is futile and destined to oblivion. So are all attempts to explain the workings of the universe without recognizing the existence of the ether and the indispensable function it plays in the phenomena.”
The second was the realization that “there is no energy in matter other than that received from the environment” - i.e. the ether source field. Tesla understood that in any electrical circuit, power doesn’t come solely from a power generator but from the “open system” dynamics that arise between the interaction of the power source, the circuitry of the electrical system, and the background medium or Ether.
Former military engineer Thomas Bearden elaborates, explaining that an electrical power stems from the broken symmetry of a dipole, where opposing charges enable a “fierce energy exchange with the seething vacuum” (the ether). This exchange, Bearden notes, allows a dipole to “freely extract electromagnetic energy from the vacuum” and convert it into usable energy, radiating it across space “continuously and indefinitely” as long as the dipole remains intact.
This idea that energy could be drawn from an open-system exchange between the Ether and the dipoles an electrical system was at the center Tesla’s vision for his World Wireless system: it sought to transmit power in unlimited amounts, directly from the Ether, to any terrestrial distance with almost no loss by leveraging the Earth’s natural electromagnetic properties.
The Wardenclyffe Tower project was intended as an initial prototype for what would eventually become a global energy system, where a network of towers would synchronize to create a dipole-like effect between the Earth and the upper atmosphere. Tesla’s system used the Earth itself as the lower terminal, tapping into its conductivity. Meanwhile, the tower’s high-altitude terminal interacted with the ionosphere, forming the upper terminal.
By pulsing high-frequency currents into the ground, Tesla aimed to establish standing waves within the Earth’s conductive layers, allowing power to be transmitted across vast distances. If multiple towers were built worldwide, they would act as nodes in this planetary circuit, sustaining and amplifying the electrical resonance. This system, Tesla believed, could enable near-instantaneous global transmission of energy, eliminating the need for traditional wired infrastructure and revolutionizing the way humanity accessed power.
Tesla declared that the goal of his system was “to transmit power, in unlimited amounts, to any terrestrial distance and almost without any loss.” Yet, his ambitions for the device went beyond energy generation and transmission: he also hoped to use his invention as an information and communications technology, one that could connect the globe together though something resembling a “super-internet”.
Explaining this aspect of his invention, Tesla remarks how his invention could be used as a system for “intelligence transmission, (for) which the name of ‘World Telegraphy’ has been suggested.” He believed this goal was “easily realizable. … Thus the entire earth will be converted into a huge brain, as it were, capable of response in every one of its parts.”
Joseph P. Farrell comments on the implications of this aspect of Tesla’s World Wireless project, noting that it would create a new, dynamic type of internet, one “beyond anything currently imaginable, for it has no need of wires, gateway computers, or satellites in order to function. In Tesla’s grand vision, the earth (itself) fulfills these functions.”
Secluding himself in Colorado Springs during the mid-1890s, Tesla conducted a series of experiments to test his ideas. These proved successful, convincing him of the validity of his ideas and securing his belief that a World Wireless energy system was possible. Tesla returned to New York and sought out the backing of investors to build a prototype of his invention. He was wary of pitching the full idea to potential investors, however, and marketed his creation as a simple radio and telegraph device.
Unfortunately, as Joseph Farrell writes, “this is where Tesla’s difficulties began, and where suppression of the physics and engineering his system represented was clearly evident.” In his book Babylon’s Banksters, he tells the story of what happened: “Tesla, as is now well known, approached the American international banker JP Morgan for a loan. (After) detailing his plan for a global system of ‘wireless telegraphy,’ even proposing to send the human voice and actual pictures by its means in a kind of terrestrial radio and television, Morgan advanced Tesla the funds.”
“What Tesla did not reveal to Morgan at this juncture was that he (also) intended to transmit electrical power itself by this means, making even his own stupendously successful system of alternating current — the system now in use worldwide — obsolete!” With Morgan’s funds in place, "Tesla chose a place on Long Island, purchased land, built a power plant, and a large tower. He called the place and the project Wardenclyffe” (pictured above).
Unfortunately for Tesla, while his project was still under construction, in one of those fateful synchronicities seemingly orchestrated by the gods, “the Italian physicist and engineer G. Marconi - using Tesla’s own (previous) devices and inventions to boot! - beat him to the punch by transmitting the first transatlantic radio signal.” When Morgan learned about Marconi’s success, he lost enthusiasm for continuing to bankroll Tesla’s project, which was already behind schedule and over-budget. “Faced with cheaper competition and a deceptively simpler, but much less flexible, system, Morgan threatened to pull the financial plug on (Tesla’s) scheme. It was then, faced with the demise of his project, that Tesla revealed his true intentions to Morgan: he planned to beam power itself through the earth to any point on the globe. With this revelation, Morgan did pull the plug, and Tesla’s grand project came to an end, and has never since been publicly revived.”
