51. How the War Transformed America
This article is part of a longer chapter titled “The Secret History of the 20th Century.” In the series of articles preceding this one, we covered in detail the secret, untold story of World War II.
Much of that discussion was centered around an exploration of Nazi Germany’s secret Kammlerstab program: a top-secret weapons development program that was deeply embedded and concealed within the operational structure of the S.S. - the elite state-within-a-state entity existing at the core of the Nazi war machine.
The Kammlerstab R&D unit, nested within the S.S., was overseen and managed by a talented engineer named Hans Kammler. His department was in charge of converting the occult interests of the S.S. into actionable weapons technologies and engineering concepts. He was also in charge of the design and build-out of the underground facilities where these “exotic" weapons R&D programs were hidden away.
The group’s highly secret research projects were classified and compartmentalized on a need-to-know basis, with none save a small number of S.S. elite being aware of what the full landscape looked like in terms of the technologies this group was working to develop. These technologies included not only atomic weapons, but also more exotic technologies, ones influenced by the S.S.’s studies into alchemy and the mysteries of Etheric energy - a paradigm of physics that long ago went deeply classified in the West, but which Kammlerstab scientists were hard at work trying to rediscover on their own.
While the secrets of the Kammlerstab were closely guarded and tightly protected, the program was vulnerable from a couple weak links.
For one, it was dependent on the services of Nazi Germany’s massive industrial cartels to supply the resources needed for its top-secret R&D projects. These cartels, as we’ve explored in previous articles, were likely infused with US intelligence agents.
The S.S. itself may have also been infiltrated: the inner elite of the S.S. was comprised of corporate executives from the same cartels that supplied its military-industrial complex. These cartels possessed extensive ties with US capitalist networks, ones that we know are intimately associated with the US national security state.
Considering all these factors together, the picture that emerges is one where a very elite (and mysterious) core at the center of the American national security state had penetrated both the S.S. and its secret weapons R&D program being run by Hans Kammler. The Americans therefore likely had intel on the secret projects being worked on by this program.
It may even be the case that US intelligence agents worked to set-up this Kammlerstab program in the first place - not so Germany could win the war, but so America could harvest this program after the war and imitate its operational parameters back home in its own version of the program.
One thing is for certain: the Kammlerstab existed, and the US had at least some foreknowledge of its existence before the war’s end. Immediately after the war concluded, the Americans swooped in and vacuumed up all the core material the Kammlerstab had been working on. They also worked methodically to import the program’s scientists, technologies, and engineering concepts back into America, presumably to create their own domestic version of the program.
It therefore appears that, in the months and years following the war, the Kammlerstab’s confiscated assets, along with thousands of captured S.S. operatives who had worked in this program, were secretly put to work in America in order to build out a domestic Kammlerstab program back in the States. As a result of this top-secret program, the entire architecture of the US national security state was transformed.
This story is the true reason for the now well-known Operation Paperclip program, which involved the task of importing thousands of S.S. operatives into the US. Why did we do this? The cover story is that we needed them for our space program; the real reason is that they were put to work in order to facilitate the build-out of America’s own Kammlerstab program.
In the process, the US national security state came to imitate the Kammlerstab’s all-encompassing culture of secrecy and operational compartmentalization.
Key features of the original German prototype that the US would in time come to imitate include: operational compartmentalization, black budget financing, the use of hidden underground research facilities, the use of public-private partnerships, and the pursuit of Ether-based paradigms of science and technology.
In short, America’s domestic Kammlerstab program would pick up where its German forebearers left off. Using the Kammlerstab's knowledge base as its foundation, the American program’s goal was to develop its own arsenal of exotic weapons technologies, ones built off the work initially established by Kammler’s top-secret R&D unit.
Let’s note again that the postwar US program began by picking up where the German one had previously left off. This implies something important:
As we recall from earlier articles in this chapter, there is evidence that the US already had a deeply secret Ether-based technology R&D program back home. But the US national security state was not “read into” this program; rather, this older program seems to have been managed at the level of secret societies.
The mission for this pre-existing secret society was to find a way to inspire the US military to adopt its own secret Ether-based research program, but to do so in such a way that it wouldn’t learn of the existence of the already-present and already-advanced program being run by American-based secret societies.
The events of WWII allowed this situation to come about: the US harvested the Kammlerstab, and this inspired them to build out their own Ether R&D program. In the meantime, they remained unaware of the fact that a more advanced program was already existing within the country and being being run by an unknown secret society.
What this means is that there are actually two secret Ether technology R&D programs presently existing in America: one less advanced “official” program that picked up where the German Kammlerstab program left off, and another that is far in advance of it and under the control of secret societies.
This in turn implies two levels to the US national security state: an upper level that interfaces with this secret society, and a lower level derived from the German program. It is this lower level that interfaces with the official institutions of the national security state and the global empire it us running through American banks, corporations, and intelligence agencies.
As we discover, it is this lower program that been given the responsibility for becoming the secret planning body of the US national security state and the instruments of world empire that it controls. The higher program, meanwhile, remains concealed from all but a few initiates in the lower program. In other words, the higher program acts upon the lower, and the lower program in turn acts upon the world.
This polarized structure is the entity that I call the “Hidden Hand”. It has higher and lower levels, with the lower level remaining ignorant of the secrets that the higher level possesses. The lower level is imperfect and is being guided upward toward the fulfillment of an archetype that the higher level specifies and embodies.
The higher level sets the agenda; the lower level is tasked with carrying it out, to the best of its ability, knowing only what it is allowed to know.
Over time, as the lower level grows in experience, it comes to know more, and gets better at doing its job. And in this way it gradually molds itself into the archetype that the unseen higher level already possesses and demonstrates.
I think this theory is the only way to explain why the events of World War II played out the way they did; I also think it’s the only way to explain why the Cold War followed it so quickly, and why from 1945 on we see the meteoric rise of, at the same time: the US national security state, US intelligence agencies, the military-industrial complex, the power of US corporations and banks, and the rapid spread around the world of the US military.
As we will be covering in this article, the Cold War, which kicked off almost immediately after the Second World War concluded, was a completely engineered conflict from the start. It served as a giant psy-op that fulfilled many functions, chief of them being to justify the build-out of a secret weapons empire within the US national security state. Another critical function it served was to legitimate the breakneck spread of US Empire around the world.
These ends were the needs of the Hidden Hand - on both its higher and lower levels. The Cold War served as a means to an end to achieve them.
From the outset, the US empire has been guided and steered by this Hidden Hand. This means it has been programmed from the start to build out the architecture for what will one day become a formalized system of world government. This was the end goal the Hidden Hand absolutely needed, were it to ever reveal itself and the Ether-based paradigm of science and technology it has been developing in secret.
It’s important to understand this, because it tells you what the future holds for us today: as the paradigm of American Empire that has been built up since WWII continuously unravels, what will happen is not the collapse of world order into a contentious multi-polar state, but rather the emergence of a formal structure of world government. The world nation is coming, and what we’ve actually been covering this whole time in this series on the secret history of the 20th century is the story of its gestation.
52. America’s Fight with the Shadow (Revisited)
It is tempting to look at the above theory and conclude that this “Hidden Hand” is an evil or at least callous agent of influence in the world. After all, a tremendous amount of suffering has taken place on Earth during the 20th and 21st centuries, and how could a Hidden Hand have allowed that to happen if it really was a benevolent entity?
That’s a fair question, but I think we have to consider a few philosophical points before we rush to judgment on the matter. To begin with, the Hidden Hand’s mandates are to maintain secrecy while gradually working to mold the lower castes of society into the contours of what will one day become a world civilization. It is not so easy to maintain the former (secrecy) while accomplishing the latter (world empire).
Because of the need for secrecy, this Hidden Hand couldn’t reveal itself and direct things in a top-down authoritarian manner. Instead, it had to use a variety of instruments and tools to accomplish its goals. These instruments include: the capitalist oligarchy, the imperialist military, corrupt politicians and bureaucrats, greedy corporations, and the ignorant public. All had to play a role in building out the contours of world civilization, but each had to do so without knowing what they were doing, why they were doing it, or who it was guiding them to do it.
Put simply, in attempting to accomplish its great alchemical work of transforming human society into an integrated global pattern, one where wars would no longer be tolerated, the Hidden Hand had to perform its alchemy using the imperfect base elements it was given.
For example, regarding the Hidden Hand’s use of the oligarchy, we note that, for many centuries prior, a long-growing movement toward oligarchy and empire had already been building within the structure of Western Society. This is a fact that the Hidden Hand had to accept and try to work with. It couldn’t abolish this oligarchy, as it held deep roots that stretched across multiple continents. In other words, oligarchy represents a state of mind that has become deeply ingrained within the human psyche over a long period of time. It can’t easily be abolished.
So, not being able to simply wish it away, the Hidden Hand would have had to find a way to secretly work with this oligarchy, quietly manipulating and guiding it into the fulfillment of certain key tasks that were necessary to the Hidden Hand’s long-term agenda.
Maintaining secrecy means maintaining a certain level of distance: the actors you’re guiding can’t know they’re being guided. They therefore have to be given some freedom of movement, including the freedom to make their own mistakes. This means that a lot of “collateral damage” is bound to take place; this is an inevitable byproduct of the secrecy.
The instruments the Hidden Hand is using have to be given some room to express their own autonomy, but in the long-term their behavior would be guided and directed toward the accomplishment of a pre-specified final goal.
For me, this explains the Rockefeller dynasty, it has worked steadily toward world government, something the Hidden Hand needs, but it has done so in a power-hungry, elitist, and self-aggrandizing way, a situation the Hidden Hand must tolerate.
These behaviors have to be tolerated, because if the Hidden Hand would come forward in order to censure them, then it would reveal its own presence and disrupt the stability of the world order it is attempting to quietly maneuver into place.
Once the Hidden Hand’s final end-goal is accomplished, then and only then can it come forward to restore justice and enforce accountability. But until then, as long as lower instruments like the oligarchy have a role to play, they will continue to be allowed to persist as a parasite upon collective society.
As we discover from examples like this, there is a steep price to secrecy: it creates the condition for the Shadow to reveal itself and flourish.
The Shadow grows where there is a lack of light. By keeping society in a state of controlled ignorance, individuals and groups located various sectors and levels of society inevitably begin to project and act out various Shadow complexes within themselves. The darkness they are kept in facilitates this process. In this way, secrecy necessitates ignorance which in turn sets the stage for the Shadow to emerge.
Within different peoples and groups, these Shadow tendencies are expressed in a variety of ways on both individual and collective scales. The oligarchy in particular is especially prone to possession by it: in a way, the system of extractive capitalism they rule over serves as one great collective expression of a Shadow complex.
In philosophical terms, we can also say the Shadow comes forth as an inevitable consequence of karma. This implies that this current moment in time, characterized as it is by darkness and Shadow, has a strong karmic nature to it: as if karma built up from the past is now being expressed in a very concentrated way, in large part through the actions of the oligarchy.
Given the current moment in time we are in - as human civilization sits on the threshold of integrating together as a world nation - perhaps it is not surprising that this is the case.
At such a critical period in human history, one might expect for long-building karma to reveal itself and burn itself out. Before birth into a New Age can take place, a certain amount of baggage built up from the past must be extinguished; it cannot be allowed to be carried forward into the New Age. Perhaps this “extinguishing” phase is what we are collectively experiencing now. Only once we have gone through it, burning out accumulated past karma as a result, can the great death-rebirth ritual of social regeneration continue to proceed.
In the end, the rebirth of civilization will come, and the alchemical transmutation of human society will be achieved. But until then, things will be challenging: the pressure brought about by this alchemical transmutation process is intense; it creates a pressure-filled and karma-rich environment that all human beings incarnating into Earth during this time have to confront and experience.
This environment is perfectly designed to bring out the Shadow elements we hold within ourselves; for those existing on Earth today, something within the soul seems to be calling them to come into birth during this time. This is an opportunity to express, confront, and overcome karma: likely, this is what your soul wants you to experience during this life.
The major karmic pressures we are experiencing today set the stage for a rebirth to take place - this playing out on both the individual and collective levels. As we confront and overcome our karma - which is what the Shadow embodies - we liberate ourselves from that karma and prepare ourselves to take a forward step toward a new phase of our evolutionary existence.
Here we come to discover that the “fight with the Shadow” exists only as a necessary intermediary stage within a longer evolutionary process. All along, this process has never been out of control; it has always been moving toward an inevitable end-state.
Mother Nature is the real hierarch behind the program; she is the Divine Power who has been pulling mankind toward the gradual fulfillment of its final evolutionary destiny since the very beginning of its existence.
Therefore, we should understand that our modern age is just one of many stages in Mother Nature’s grand evolutionary design, with each stage playing host to a specialized period of human evolution.
As part of Mother Nature’s grand initiatic plan for mankind, she being after all the “Mother of the Mysteries,” the human race must incrementally face and overcome its own Shadow complexes. Today, she is orchestrating her initiation plan by means of this grand drama of world empire and secret science, one that is intimately connected with the “secret destiny” of America.
This is an archetypal experience we are being presented with, one that manifests across numerous levels of human civilization’s multi-tiered caste system. By going through this archetypal experience - one that features strong motifs of “spiritual death and rebirth” - a grand process of human awakening is being catalyzed and quickened.
Keep this in mind as we move forward through the rest of this article: while the content we are covering has to do with outlining a story about human history, the purpose behind our investigation of it is not to wow you with facts and drama, but rather to help illuminate the presence of a deeper organizing intelligence existing behind and through these events.
This organizing intelligence is divine, but works through a specialized human institution - the Mystery Schools. This institution is the “upper level” of the Hidden Hand that I’ve been referencing: it is the orchestrator of world events; and the goal it is pursuing is human initiation.
With this context now established, I want to pick up on our coverage of 20th century history by now investigating the story of the rise of America’s Empire in the postwar decades.
The fate of America is heavily tied with the fate of the world. Therefore, there is a strong archetypal motion playing out behind the story of America’s rise to power during the 20th century.
One of these archetypes has to do with the future of civilization: America has taken on the mission of bringing about world civilization and world government. Another has to do with the future of science: America has taken on the role of monopolizing the technological secrets of Etheric energy. And another has to do with the manifestation of the Shadow: America’s dual mandate of secrecy and empire has created the condition for its empire to become the breeding ground for Shadow complexes of all types to emerge and fester.
As a first step in pursuing this line of analysis, I want to return our attention to the Rockefeller dynasty - a family who has already received considerable attention in this chapter. As we go further into their story and the role they played in helping set the stage for American Empire, we find all three archetypal motifs coming into play: globalism, secrecy, and Shadow. These are archetypal characteristics of the age, and the Rockefeller’s connections to them suggests that they hold a heavy karmic tie to mankind’s evolutionary process during this current phase of human history.
In many ways, the Rockefellers are strongly associated with the looming presence of the Shadow, in particular as it has come to be manifested within the structure of American Empire. They are not the only Shadow players we may point to, but the Shadow is so clearly connected to them, that they serve as an ideal case study for observing and tracking it.
In the next section, as we go deeper into the Rockefeller saga, we will discover more about how the Shadow has come to reveal itself through them, their allies in the Deep State and in the oligarchy, and the overall growth and evolution of American Empire during the second half of the 20th century.
53. The American Century
In previous articles of this series, we explored how the Rockefeller family rose to become perhaps the most important and influential dynasty within America’s elite oligarchical caste.
The family’s initial rise to power came from the vital role that their oil company, Standard Oil, played in supporting the rise of America’s larger imperial ambitions. Standard Oil provided the fuel that America’s war machine ran on; and because of this fact, the Rockefellers became indispensable assets to the imperialist planners within America’s military hierarchy.
In this way, the Rockefellers’ corporate empire grew to become an inseparable extension of the US military-industrial complex. Within its vast structure, no firm line divided where public agencies left off and private corporations began; the two worked inseparably together as one, and the Rockefellers were one of the key players existing at the center of this system.
Many observers of this situation come to the conclusion that because their corporate empire plays such a vital part of America’s imperial grand strategy, the Rockefellers are therefore the ones who really run the show. But I see it differently: I don’t think they run things at all, at least not at the highest levels. Rather, they are indispensable assets of its machinery, a machinery that also extends into realms the Rockefellers aren’t a part of.
So the Rockefellers (and oligarchs like them) are locked on a level; they are indispensable to that level, but there are also other levels that extend beyond them. Perhaps they are actually being managed and controlled by an entity existing at one of these secret levels?
The Rockefellers’ network of corporations, which extend beyond oil and move into banking, chemicals, agribusiness, medicine, and other fields, all exist within sectors that are in one way or another integrated into the grand project of establishing an American Empire.
Furthermore, through the activity of their foundations, we find the Rockefellers also invested heavily in key think tanks responsible for articulating the vision of American Empire. These include the Council on Foreign Relations, the Bilderberg Group, and the Trilateral Commission.
So are the Rockefellers the real masterminds of this whole system, or were they used as a vehicle or front through whom a deeper entity could pursue the build-out of its long-planned world empire?
World empire is a goal that many groups, not just the Rockefellers, have long held a desire for. This includes other oligarchs, but it also includes entities existing at a deeper level of the “Deep State”.
The Rockefellers seems to have been the chosen entity to coordinate and lead the quest for American Empire at the level of the oligarchy and its network of international corporations.
It is on this level that Rockefeller-lead institutions like the Council on Foreign Relations exerted their greatest influence. This think tank and similar ones like it work something like the brain of the oligarchy: they articulate the policy vision that the rest of the oligarchs and the corporations they control are to follow.
This situation becomes clear when we consider the impact of the 1945 manifesto for American Empire that the CFR put out through one of its agents, Henry Luce of Time Magazine.
That year, Luce published a landmark essay titled “The American Century.” It is here, in this article, that we find the contours of America’s postwar empire being transparently revealed, so that an entire network of corporate entities can be aligned to its vision.
This article spells out the marching orders these corporations and their oligarchical owners were to follow in the postwar years.
In essence, what Luce articulated in his article were the key components of America’s postwar imperial agenda, as they were to be implemented on this level of oligarchy. Therefore, the article served to manage the “worldview perception” of the oligarchy, mobilizing it to accomplish certain vital tasks on behalf of a larger imperial project that transcended them.
The vision Luce laid out in his article was directly inspired by the work that a secret study group within the CFR had conducted during the war years. This study group was responsible for laying out a detailed vision for the role American corporations were to play in formulating a new American empire in the postwar era.
The purpose of Luce’s article was to communicate this vision to the masses - and particularly to the corporate class, who were the ones who most needed to know about it, since they would be the ones following its dictates in the years to come.
Researcher F. William Engdahl summarizes the article's core message, noting that the US’s postwar imperial grand strategy was to be centered around its effort to create “a vast captive global market or economic space for the United States; an American ‘Lebensraum’.” American corporations and banks would be the entities put to work to build out this economic space; they would be the ones occupying foreign lands and seizing foreign assets.
To facilitate these ends, America was to emphasize a geopolitical strategy based on the use of “soft power”. Here, US-controlled international institutions such as the BIS, WTO, IMF, NATO, and the UN would play key roles. Transnational corporations and Federal Reserve-affiliated banks would also play central roles in implementing America’s program of economic empire.
In essence, the entire system of world capitalism was to become weaponized and used as a tool in order to fulfill America’s grand imperial vision.
As Engdahl further elaborates, in the CFR’s vision for American Empire, “global power after World War II would no longer be measured in terms of military control over colonial territories. The British and European-style empires (that had ruled previously) had proved far too costly and inefficient. Instead, American power would be defined directly in economic terms. It would be based largely on what one Harvard proponent, Joseph Nye, later called ‘soft power’ - a soft power backed by the world’s most powerful military machine.”
Part of the goal of using “soft power" was to hide the fact that the US was building an empire at all. Its use of private corporations helped it to do this.
As Engdahl further explains, "America was to be an empire in much the same way that Great Britain had been an Empire after 1815, (but) with one significant difference. America’s economic imperialism would disguise itself under the rhetorical cover of ‘spreading free enterprise,’ and supporting ‘national self-determination’ and ‘democracy.’ The term ‘empire’ was to be scrupulously avoided.”
But despite this branding, the world order America would work to establish “was every bit an empire, albeit a less visible one.”
Its main instrument of power projection was its corporations and banks. Both were privately controlled, and thus outside of the direct influence of the country’s democratic institutions.
These private entities were backed by military power, and the departments who controlled this power were ones also existing outside the realm of democratic oversight. Together, private and militaristic elements fused together to form a hybrid public-private complex of military-industrial interests. As a whole, this hybrid entity exists outside the purview of democratic accountability.
Thus, we discover that America’s Empire has been built out primarily at a covert, privatized, non-transparent level. So while the overt government advocates democracy, a covert government or “Deep State” operates behind the scenes and works to build out in secret the contours of an inherently undemocratic global corporate order - a world cartel system.
In America’s “soft power” empire, private corporations become the primary instruments of power projection: they are sent out to seize resources and occupy key territories, just as soldiers used to do. But they accomplish these feats in a far more efficient and cost-effective manner than what the old imperial armies use to achieve through physical occupation with boots on the ground.
In the American model of empire, the military’s purpose becomes almost secondary: it fades into the background, its primary role no longer being to overpower other militaries but rather to strategically protect, often through small, targeted covert operations, the work of American corporations, who do the “real” occupying.
These corporations become the new “boots on the ground”: they are the ones who are primarily responsible for implementing America’s imperial grand strategy. Furthermore, corporations, as “soft power” instruments, also become key mechanisms through which targeted covert operations can be carried out. For example: industrial sabotage or bribing foreign politicians.
What resulted in the Cold War era was a situation in which (to quote Engdahl again) “a single, overwhelming global power, the United States, (ruled over) a growing number of de facto vassal states, whose wealthy elites were in one way or another dependent for their existence on the ‘good graces’ of Washington and the Pentagon.”
While this system was backed by US military power, it was primarily put in place by means of a network of corporate assets, such as those owned by the Rockefeller dynasty. These assets are infused with intelligence operatives and agents of the national security state.
In this light, we come to understand that Wall Street and the empire of corporations that populate its stock markets are not autonomous entities existing separate from the state or military. And they definitely do not operate within a fictitious, hands off, “free market” environment. Rather, they are centrally managed entities: instruments of the US national security state.
This national security state is the real custodian of American Empire. It operates through multiple levels, the oligarchy being one of them but not the only one.
Within the plane of oligarchy, the Rockefeller dynasty has risen to occupy a particularly important place. There is a reason for this beyond nepotism: the corporate holdings possessed by the Rockefeller group incorporates at every level vital assets that are key to the implementation of the national security state’s grand imperial strategy.
The Rockefellers know this and profit wildly off this system. But the system wasn’t set up just to make them and their fellow oligarchs rich: there is a clear "national security” rationale to the partnership.
The vast corporations owned and operated by oligarchs like the Rockefellers become vehicles through which targeted covert operations can be pursued by deeper elements of the NSS.
A survey of the Rockefeller’s major financial holdings reveals that their financial portfolio is one that contains a number of assets of immense strategic value to the US national security state. For example, Engdahl informs us that: “In addition to dominating the two largest banks in New York — Chase Bank and National City Bank of New York — Rockefeller (interests also) controlled the largest oil companies in the world, the Standard Oil group, (as well as) numerous strategic military industries, chemical companies, and agribusiness firms.”
The value of the Rockefellers to the Deep State becomes even more clear when we consider the interlocking directorates that the Rockefeller faction shared with other key American military contractors, such as “McDonnell Aircraft, Monsanto, DuPont, Hercules Powder, Nuclear Development Corporation, General Electric, Rockwell Manufacturing, and scores of other holdings.”
Every element in this portfolio interfaces in a direct and intimate way with the imperial foreign policy objectives of the US national security state. This is not a coincidence.
Because of the close relationship that exists between the national security state and the Rockefeller’s corporate empire, it is likely that agents of the former (the NSS) are deeply embedded throughout the management structure of these latter corporate entities. These assets would serve to coordinate things happening on the corporate level with strategies being enacted in other sectors of the Empire.
Once we accept this fact, it is a lot easier to understand why so often Rockefeller-affiliated interests are found linked to major covert operations and intelligence activities that the US NSS is involved in.
For example, consider the intimate, revolving door relationship between the Dulles brothers (Allen and John Foster), the Rockefeller corporate empire, and the national security state. As Engdahl informs us: “the two most influential figures in the Eisenhower Administration during the onset of the Cold War in the 1950s were the brothers Dulles. Allen Dulles headed the CIA and John Foster Dulles was Secretary of State.” Before occupying these positions, “both brothers built their careers within the Rockefeller empire.” More specifically, they were lawyers in the law firm (Sullivan & Cromwell) that serviced the Rockefeller faction’s most important corporate holdings, including Standard Oil.
Consider also the fact that Rockefeller descendants have directly occupied significant roles within key US intelligence agencies. For example, “Nelson Rockefeller himself was named in 1954 as Eisenhower’s Special Assistant on Cold War Strategy. (In this role, he was) responsible to the President for oversight of CIA covert operations and (for the) development of various strategic policy positions.”
Clearly, the Rockefellers and the network of corporations and banks they owned were important assets of the US national security state throughout the 20th century. They were assets of it; they did not control it. Nor is it likely they would have possessed or been granted access to the full spectrum of knowledge about what other programs and levels that existed within the vast hidden structure of the NSS.
Certainly, there were various other levels and tiers of the NSS that would have been hidden and compartmentalized away from what the Rockefellers and their peers within the CFR would have had access to.
In other words, The Rockefellers and oligarchs like them were major players, but only on their own level. And they were locked on that level.
Their worldview perception was being managed, this being done in such a way as to enable them to operate effectively within a certain plane of activity, but not to stray outside the lines.
It’s better and safer to keep their activities compartmentalized and locked on a certain level, and to do the same with other actors operating on other levels. Each level can know only what it needs to know to complete its necessary task; no further information need be communicated.
One level of the Deep State that the Rockefeller faction was almost certainly not aware of is that involving the existence of an American “Kammlerstab”-style R&D program. This entity would be the prize possession of the US national security state; knowledge of its existence would kept on a strictly “need to know” basis.
To play their role in operating the corporate and financial structure of American Empire, would oligarchs like the Rockefellers need to know about this hidden inner secret? I don’t think so. In fact, I think it would make them a liability were they to find out about it.
To “read” the Rockefellers or their associates like the Dulles Brothers into any of the deeper mysteries going on behind the scenes of the level they operate on would be unnecessary and potentially dangerous, as it might risk the stability of the overall system. Therefore, the worldview perception of oligarchs like the Rockefellers would have to be managed so as steer them away from ever discovering the truth. This would keep them in their lane, right where they needed to stay.
54. Engineering the Cold War
During WWII, Allen Dulles, a former lawyer to Standard Oil, served as an agent of the OSS, the CIA’s early wartime predecessor. According to Engdahl, Dulles spent “the war running intelligence operations, ostensibly against Nazi Germany from Berne, Switzerland.”
In his role as an US intelligence agent, its hard to know just how much Dulles knew of the most secret of the wartime weapons projects S.S. general Hans Kammler was operating within an extensive network of underground bases during the war. He may or may not have known about the Bell or about Schauberger’s flying saucer prototypes, but an operation he almost certainly was aware of and involved in one the one involving the transfer of Nazi nuclear weapons materials to the US before war’s end.
This transfer of nuclear materials was part of a well-orchestrated escape plan that had been set in motion a year or more before war’s end. As part of this plan, US intelligence networks would be leveraged in order to funnel a “ratline” of S.S. specialists and Kammlerstab scientists out of collapsing Nazi Germany and into US control. Some of these fleeing Nazis were put to work in the US; others were relocated down to Argentina, which became a popular landing spot for them.
This operation would have been one the Rockefeller network would have been “read into” and helped orchestrate. It was an operation existing on their plane of activity. Concealed within this program, however, were other levels they wouldn’t have been aware of: such as those concerning the Kammlerstab’s most secret projects, ones like the Bell.
As one of the heads of US intelligence in Latin America, Nelson Rockefeller would have certainly been involved in America’s “Nazi ratline” program. His responsibilities at the time included, as Engdahl informs us, the funneling of “US Government support to (Deep State-affiliated) business allies in key countries, from Brazil to Peru, Mexico, Venezuela and even Argentina.”
Through his office, US intelligence agents were placed all over Latin America, where they worked to influence and control the governments of its key nations, getting each to “play ball” with American foreign policy goals. One of these was certainly the Nazi ratline relocation project, which involved numerous Latin American countries but which was specifically tied into Argentina.
In addition to their likely involvement in this Nazi relocation program, during this period the Rockefeller faction (and Allen Dulles in particular) would have also involved with another key operation being conducted by US military intelligence agencies. This involved the recruitment of chief Nazi intelligence officer Reinhard Gehlen into the service of the US intelligence agencies.
The objective here was to bring Gehlen's vast network of German spies and intelligence assets planted within the Soviet Union into America’s orbit of influence.
There was a clear strategic purpose in mind behind this move: Gehlen’s intelligence network was to be leveraged by the Americans to deliberately and intentionally engineer the Cold War into existence. This is clear, as it was Gehlen's intelligence network which served as the source of the engineered myth that the Soviet Union was a serious geopolitical threat and that an indefinite “cold war” would be needed to counter and combat this existential challenger.
In truth, the Soviets did not want the Cold War and weren’t responsible for causing it. It was foisted upon them by the Americans, just as the current conflict in Ukraine has been. In the case of the Cold War, its engineering was done for a highly strategic reason: it gave America the cover in needed to build-out, in secret, the contours of its unofficial world empire.
At the same time, the War also provided justification for American defense agencies to embrace a culture of secrecy, compartmentalization, and privatization - this being the type of environment needed to conceal a secret technological research core within the heart of its national security infrastructure.
American strategists had planned and set in motion the Cold War decades in advance of its formal beginning. They had been working towards it ever since the time of the Dawes and Young war reparations plans of the 1920s, this being the time when the foundations for a world energy cartel were first established.
As Antony Sutton has extensively covered in his research, Soviet industry, like its German counterparts, came into being only after receiving copious amounts of aid and guidance from American investment banks and industrial corporations. In receiving this aid, each nation was being groomed to play a specific role in future world events, Germany’s role playing out during WWII and the Soviet’s right afterwards, during the Cold War.
Reinhardt Gehlen’s intelligence network was harvested by the US immediately after WWII in order to bring about a series of circumstances that would lead inevitably to the launch of the Cold War.
Researcher Joseph P. Farrell offers the background context for Gehlen’s recruitment into US service: “Gehlen undertook negotiations with OSS station chief in Zurich, Allen Dulles, to turn (his) network over to American intelligence at the conclusion of the war, provided that he, General Gehlen, remain in day-to-day operational control of this network.” This means that, at the beginning of the Cold War, “the CIA’s on-the-ground Soviet intelligence and analysis division was, virtually in its entirety, General Gehlen’s Nazi military intelligence group.”
The payoff to this arrangement came quickly: “The Gehlenorg, during this same time period, had given its American cousins in the CIA an analysis of Soviet military capabilities and intentions, an estimate that so deliberately over-estimated these capabilities and intentions that it was one of the crucial factors in driving the postwar American arms race and doctrine of ‘containment.’”
In short, Gehlen’s “intentional overestimation of Soviet military capabilities and intentions played no small part in the spread and enduring intensity of the early Cold War.”
Gehlen’s intelligence reports were taken by US military strategists and further dramatized and amplified - the intention being to further overstate the Soviet Union’s military capabilities and imperial ambitions.
As F. William Engdahl explains, the purpose of this fear-mongering was clear: it was to justify “a never-ending national security state that maintains a network of bases around the world.”
This was the point: the service that Gehlen provided for US military intelligence, who needed the Cold War to justify both the continuous and non-transparent buildout of the US military-industrial complex and the spread of American Empire around the world in a covert, “soft power” fashion.
Clearly, different sectors and levels within the American Deep State had their own reasons for wanting to bring about this never-ending war.
At the deepest levels, it was needed in order to covertly establish within the US a domestic Kammlerstab program. At the same time, at the more overt levels, the Cold War was needed to justify the buildout of a global American Empire.
The American oligarchy - encompassing bankers, corporate heads, and think tanks strategists working with entities like the Council on Foreign Relations - were the ones put in charge of this latter project: the build-out of American Empire.
It was on this level that Gehlen’s intelligence reports were fed into and sold. Here, Rockefeller-affiliated strategists like George Kennan packaged and sold their reports as part of a doctrine of “Soviet containment”. This doctrine argued that the spread of American Empire around the world was necessary and justified on the grounds of the existential Soviet threat.
Engdahl informs us that, while Kennan was on one hand selling to the public and to Wall Street the idea that the Soviet containment policy was needed to preserve American national security, he was also, among his peers within the national security state, “coldly honest and realistic about the true postwar goal of the US elite: it was US domination of the world.”
For example, "In 1948, George F. Kennan, wrote a confidential internal State Department memo. It outlined the postwar agenda of the US power establishment very succinctly: ‘…[W]e have about 50% of the world’s wealth but only 6.3% of its population. … In this situation, we cannot fail to be the object of envy and resentment. Our real task in the coming period is (therefore) to devise a pattern of relationships which will permit us to maintain this position of disparity without positive detriment to our national security. To do so, we will have to dispense with all sentimentality and day-dreaming; and our attention will have to be concentrated everywhere on our immediate national objectives. We need not deceive ourselves that we can afford today the luxury of altruism and world-benefaction.’”
This frank assessment tells us why the US power elite found it necessary to deliberately engineer the Cold War into being: they needed it to carry out the buildout of their secret postwar Empire, one the American people would have no involvement in or for the most part even an awareness of.
What the Cold War really did was justify the buildout of a permanent war economy in America, one sold to the country as being necessary for it to successfully combat the “Soviet threat”.
Through the rise of a permanent war economy, one the Cold War inspired, a vast military-industrial complex could then be built. And then within the vast, complex, highly secretive structure of the military-industrial complex, something else could be hidden: an extremely concealed secret scientific research and technology development unit, one dedicated to, like the Kammlerstab before it, the exploration of an Ether-based paradigm of physics.
The concealed creation of this American Kammlerstab was the real goal of the Cold War: the existential threat of a nuclear-armed Soviet Russia was merely cover for the project.
Simply put, the decades-long ideological conflict between America and Russia was an entirely manufactured operation, one that was deemed vital and necessary to the US’s long-term national security interests.
It was deemed necessary to create because of what it justified and concealed: the creation of permanent, off-the-books Kammlerstab program. Not only that, it also provided the impetus for the US to extend a global empire around the world, one whose all-encompassing dominance over the world would ensure that America - and America alone - remained in sole possession of the breakthrough technologies its domestic Kammlerstab program was producing.
Additionally, as a further benefit to the US’s long-term grand strategy, the Cold War also served to justify a culture of absolute secrecy, operational compartmentalization, and black projects to become deeply ingrained within the culture of the American national security state - these each serving as critical components necessary for the maintenance of a domestic off-the-books Kammlerstab-style program.
Before moving on, let’s consider another angle to the Cold War, one that helps reinforce the idea that the whole operation was a managed affair.
To manage such a conflict, the US would need to have intelligence agents deeply rooted within the Soviet Union, who could influence the nature of its response to this conflict. Now, let’s remember that the military-industrial complex of Soviet Russia was, from its outset, developed in coordination with US Deep State interests. Antony Sutton has a whole book on this.
There is therefore reason to believe that well before its harvesting of Gehlen’s intelligence outfit, the US had deep-rooted intelligence assets placed within the Soviet Union and its military-industrial complex.
America’s goal in orchestrating this industrial espionage network was to ensure that the Soviets played their role in carrying out the engineered war. This means that they would not instigate a “hot war” with America; and it also means that any domestic Etheric energy program they may have been working on would have been tightly controlled and managed and not allowed to progress beyond a certain level in case it may threaten the supremacy of America’s program.
There is some evidence that supports this theory: that a hidden level of coordination was taking place between the US and the Soviets during the Cold War.
Richard Hoagland, for example, has presented research indicating that the space programs of both countries show signs of having been continuously coordinated together over a span of decades. If true, this is likely just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the existence of secret levels of coordination and collusion taking place between scientific technocrats within the inner core of each nation’s military-industrial complex.
Likely, this technocratic network extended within and between not just America and Russia but also all major nations of the world: something like a scientific version of the BIS (Bank of International Settlements), one responsible for coordinating Ether-based scientific developments on an international level. Within such a body, lead scientists working at the heart of each nation’s domestic military-industrial complex could secretly coordinate their efforts. This would allow their collective efforts to be steered toward servicing the vision of a larger, long-term grand strategy.
Likely, one of the primary objectives of this grand strategy would be to make sure that war hawks within the overt military hierarchy of each nation would never get their hands on the science and technology this hidden technocratic caste were developing among themselves in absolute secrecy.
If such an entity does in fact exist, it wouldn’t be the first time in human history that something like it did. What we’re seeing here is merely the replication of an old archetype, one brought forward from the past and updated for modern times. Here I’m referencing the priesthoods involved with the old pagan Mysteries: during their heyday, the priesthoods of numerous world nations were secretly connected together at a global level to form an interconnected pattern.
During ancient times, members of this esoteric order coordinated with each other across the world to keep the most prized esoteric knowledge they possessed away from the prying eyes of the uninitiated masses - including most of all the oligarchs and warlords who ruled over the people.
Fast forwarding to today, this archetype sounds quite familiar now, doesn’t it?
55. Dollar Diplomacy
As we covered earlier - and as F. William Engdahl reexplains again now - “the American Century was to be an informal empire of dependent ‘client states’ rather than occupied colonies.”
In this new paradigm of empire, one based on “soft power” principles, US banks, corporations, intelligence networks, and covert operations teams were to be the primary instruments of US power projection - not boots on the ground, as had been in the case in previous eras of empire.
The goal was to utilize this new, corporate-based model of empire to convert the sovereign nations of Europe, Asia, the Middle East, South America, and Africa into “vassal states” under American control, with the American national security state dictating the core economic and political policies each of these nations would pursue.
International institutions such as the UN, NATO, and the IMF became formal instruments of this “soft power” empire. For example, through NATO, the countries of Western Europe would become bound together under a security pact which made them all dependencies or “vassals” of American economic and military power.
As America’s vassals, they were forced to adhere to US-dictated policies and goals. In most cases, they were also required to allow the US to operate military bases in their nations, these being necessary to ward off the “Soviet threat”.
These same nations were also roped into signing various economic treaties with America, ones designed to open up their domestic economic and industrial systems to American influence and direction.
By means of soft-power tactics like this, the architecture of the American Century gradually came into formation. Occasionally, hot wars would also be integrated into the scheme in order to push events along, Korea and Vietnam being two prominent examples.
The Korean War was a product of the US national security state’s need to sell its pre-planned Cold War initiative to the governments of the West. As Engdahl explains, “in late 1948 Washington announced plans for the creation of a new Atlantic military alliance with its Marshall Plan partners, in return for permanent US bases in western European countries. … Within months, the Korean War would galvanize NATO members to accept an active, permanent military defense organization in Western Europe under the control of Washington, with headquarters in Brussels.”
The war would also have long-lasting repercussions back home in America, as it helped mobilize “popular support for a permanent national security state” in the US. “The goal was the enormous expansion of military industry on a permanent basis.” The Korean War serviced this goal perfectly: between the beginning and end of the war, “the US Defense budget soared 400%, (rising) from less than $13 billion at the start of the war to more than $60 billion by war’s end in 1953.” Thereafter, it would only increase, never going back down to pre-war levels.
Alongside America’s tactic of roping other nations into its orbit of influence through economic treaties and security pacts, US imperial planners also implemented other key strategies designed to keep other nations compliant to America’s dictates. Perhaps the most significant soft power strategy the Americans used was to maneuver their currency, the dollar, into becoming the centerpiece of the global financial system - a feat it accomplished as the world’s reserve currency.
By means of the dollar, which would flow out of the Federal Reserve and encircle the world with debt, America’s extensive network of vassal colonies would be tethered inseparably to the American motherland and the powerful national security state that controlled it.
America’s economic and financial systems emerged from WWII in an incredibly powerful position. Meanwhile, those of its major rivals - Britain, Germany, and Russia - had been all but destroyed during the war. Furthermore, these nations were all heavily in debt to America, and the US used this to its advantage as it worked to enthrone its currency as the reserve currency of world trade.
The postwar financial order that America put into place, called the Bretton Woods system, was built on a new, modified version of the gold standard, one that featured the American dollar as the sole currency tethered to gold, which it was linked with at a fixed convertibility rate. Meanwhile, all other national currencies would be tethered not to gold but to the US dollar. In this way, American strategists were able to dictate the terms of world trade, as no major player involved in it was given freedom to operate independently of the American-lead system.
This new American model was a modified version of how previous gold standards had worked. F. William Engdahl elaborates, noting that “under the 19th Century British Gold Standard, … each national currency was backed by a given reserve of national monetary gold. Under the new rules of Bretton Woods (however), Washington imposed a system where only one currency— the US dollar— would be backed by gold. All other currencies were fixed in value in relation to the dollar.”
At the time this system was first set-up, the US was in control of over 70% of the world’s supply of monetary gold. And that percentage does not include the vast quantities of gold seized from the defeated Axis powers of Germany and Japan, which was kept off the books as a top-secret financial reservoir.
By means of these two systems, one being the Bretton Woods system, the other the secret pool of money that the US national security state held exclusive access to, the US was able to project an overwhelming amount of power into and overtop the world geopolitical system. All other nations became vassals to it, capitulating their sovereignty almost immediately.
Engdahl emphasizes just how powerful of an instrument of empire that the Bretton Woods system represented for the US power elite: it “was a coup for the United States and for the Wall Street banks behind (it). The dollar became the world’s reserve currency” and this gave US banks almost “unlimited power to create dollars” and this they did. And “because its currency, the dollar, was the world reserve currency, the world was more or less forced to accept the inflated dollars. No other country enjoyed that enormous advantage. “
“In practice (this) meant that world trade was almost exclusively transacted in dollars, a decisive advantage for the US, who had unlimited power to print new dollars, unfettered by having to hold gold reserves against new dollar issue. … (This) allowed the US Treasury and Federal Reserve the uncontrolled power to issue virtually unlimited dollars for international lending, regardless of gold backing, as the dollar and not gold was the world reserve commodity.”
This favored scenario allowed the US to dictate the terms of world geopolitics. More specifically, the near unlimited amount of money and debt the Federal Reserve was able to create enabled it to centralize control over the development of the world economic system, making sure that its proceeded along a certain trajectory favored by US imperial strategists.
This is an example of how America’s “soft power” strategy works in action: by controlling the flow of money and credit around the world, American is able to influence and dictate policy and behavior within other foreign nations, doing so in ways that keeps them in a state of dependency on itself - i.e. it keeps them vassals of its empire.
But while “soft power” strategies such as these are vital to the fulfillment of America’s grand strategy, America’s ability to successfully implement these tactics depends on the support of its military’s overwhelming power and global reach.
Actually, America’s “soft power” and “hard power” capabilities go hand in hand. As Engdahl explains, by means of the dollar’s “reserve currency” status, “the United States was able to finance its growing military expenses abroad by issuing new dollars rather than increasing its own gold reserves.” The issuance of these new dollars was backed by the selling of Treasury Bonds, ones that “foreign central banks holding surplus trade dollar accumulations had little recourse but to (purchase).” In effect, this meant that, by purchasing these treasury bonds, foreign nations were themselves actually coerced into financing their own encirclement by the US’s military.
The US’s network of military bases, navy warships, and satellites ensures that the dollar-based financial order will perpetuate unchallenged indefinitely - at least until such time as its strategic planners decide to maneuver the system towards a new design. Likely, we are now seeing the onset of this type of transition, with CBDC’s being the instrument chosen to replace the dollar as the centerpiece of a new global financial order.
A further element is involved in institutionalizing America’s economic empire into place beyond just coercion. As Timothy Mitchell explains, “in practice, what sustained the value of the dollar was that countries had to use the American currency to purchase the essential materials that formed the bulk of international trade, above all oil.”
This is another key soft power tactic: control what currency key world commodities are priced in. If they are priced in your currency, that means there will be a permanent demand for your currency on the world market. This allows you to control the parameters of world trade.
Because commodities like oil are priced in dollars, there is in an innate demand for dollars by all countries around the world. Once these dollars have been accumulated by foreign nations, they will be recycled back into the US either through the purchase of Treasury Bonds or into US corporations through the purchase of oil. By purchasing either, foreign nations are coerced into financing the continued expansion of the US Empire, along with the banks and corporations that it operates through.
Zooming out and considering the contours of the world order that emerged at the conclusion of WWII, we find the US swiftly and with great precision building out the contours of a global empire, using a combination of “soft power” and “hard power” tactics to bring it about.
The core architecture of this empire was built upon the following factors: America’s control of world financial markets, the reserve status of its currency, the domineering international presence of its corporations, the immense power of its weapons technology, the deep penetration into world nations by its intelligence networks, and the extensive security pacts and economic agreements it had coerced its foreign allies into signing. Through all these means and more, the US converted the world into a vast tributary for its centrally managed empire.
The foundations of this world empire would stay in place for decades, remaining even up to present times. But, over the decades, it would evolve and transform in important ways. One of the most significant developments would take place a couple decades into the project, when the dollar system shifted out its “gold standard” phase and moved instead into a new paradigm based around the “petrodollar”. Here, the US dollar would release its tether to gold and hitch itself instead directly to oil, the world’s most valuable commodity and one the US national security state held a near absolute monopoly over.
The topic of the petrodollar is what we will now move into and explore further in the next section.
56. The Petrodollar
As we discussed above, the American-controlled financial and economic order built up after WWII was one premised around the US’s grand strategy of encircling the world with its military bases, while coercing its nations to participate in a dollar-centered global financial system. This blatant imperial program was masked and hidden behind the overt structure of the Cold War, an engineered conflict from the start.
US diplomats and intelligence agents took advantage of the cover the Cold War provided in order to coerce the leaders of foreign nations into adhering to various binding economic agreements and national security pacts, ones that put them into a state of permanent dependency on America.
By means of these soft power tactics, the American national security state positioned itself to be able to reengineer the domestic social orders and economies of foreign nations in lockstep fashion.
One of the key social reengineering policies the US pursued during the Cold War era was to coerce the major nations of the world into restructuring their economies into an oil-dependent model of operation.
Through this strategy, the US, holding monopoly control over the world oil trade, was able to deeply solidify its world empire into being. Now, to challenge the US world order, a rival country would have to first find a way to maneuver itself off oil. This would be all but impossible for any developed economy to do, particularly with US missiles placed all around the world and US intelligence agents infiltrating every major industry and country.
Because the US controlled the world oil trade, because oil was priced in dollars, and because the US had covertly worked to make every country’s economy dependent on oil, the US had all but ensured that its global economic empire would continue indefinitely. By means of the petrodollar, every major power was now locked into the US system for good.
This meant that the world economy as a whole was now engineered around the primary goal of providing the American national security state and military-industrial complex with a perpetual flow of financial support. In other words, the whole world had been coerced into the task of financing the perpetual build-out of America’s imperial agenda.
To better understand the significance of the petrodollar system, let’s go a bit deeper into the story of how US strategists maneuvered this system into being in the first place. Certainly, it was a project that would have taken decades of preparation.
As we know, in the postwar era, America held a near absolute monopoly over the global oil trade - not just in terms of its economics, but also its geopolitics. This latter factor is important, as there are a lot of elements that go into establishing monopoly control over this resource, particularly since the primary region where it is produced - the Middle East - is a foreign territory located far from home.
Having initially won its monopoly position in the oil trade through a mix of hard and soft power tactics, the US needed to find a way to maintain its control over this industry, while also working to create a situation where the commodity it was controlling would be in incessant demand on the world market.
The first need - control - was achieved through a mix of oil wars, diplomatic tactics, puppet regimes, and covert operations. The second - ensuring demand - was accomplished by America mandating its vassal colonies to reengineer their economies into following an oil-dependent growth model.
Through financial mechanisms like the World Bank and the IMF and through political mechanisms like the UN and NATO, the US was able to covertly coerce all major foreign nations into following this economic reengineering program. As a consequence, the domestic economies of each nation of the world was converted to an oil-based operational model.
As part of this reengineering initiative, the US subsidized the buildout of roads and highways around the world. They also subsidized the creation of domestic automobile manufacturing industries in different nations. World markets were further opened up to US agribusiness corporations, who began utilizing a petroleum-based industrial approach to agriculture. Other petroleum-based industries were also promoted; in short, the whole world economy was to be shifted to an oil-dependent model, this being done under the logic of US national security.
None of this had to do with human well-being or prosperity. Rather, America's quest to obtain full-spectrum dominance control over the world geopolitical system was the only goal. And the Cold War provided the perfect cover for America to achieve this goal - and to do so without the vast majority of people realizing this was the case.
This reengineering initiative was targeted not only at the economies of foreign nations, but also at America’s own domestic economy as well - the whole world was to move in lockstep fashion into the new Petroleum Age.
As Engdahl further explains, “within the United States after the war, the Rockefeller Standard Oil group (and their Deep State contacts) set about to completely transform the domestic US economy, inside and out. … Step by step, a concerted alliance between the Detroit automakers and Rockefeller oil companies created a huge new (domestic) market for oil and petroleum.” En masse, “Americans left their trains for cars,” and at the same time “postwar real estate developers built large shopping malls and new suburbs far from rail connections, and far from jobs.”
In this petroleum era, "Railroads themselves would henceforth be used predominantly for freight, and not for passengers.” This was ensured by a conspiracy of interests. Engdahl elaborates, informing us that “a stealthy alliance between the world’s largest carmaker, GM, and Standard Oil, along with tire maker, Firestone, destroyed the competition of the efficient, electric municipal streetcar. … By the end of the 1940s, GM had bought and scrapped over one hundred municipal electric transit systems in 45 cities and put gas-burning GM buses on the streets in their place. By 1955 almost 90% of the electric streetcar lines in the United States had been ripped out or otherwise eliminated.”
“What remained to complete the conversion of the United States to the Age of Oil was the systematic destruction of long-distance passenger and freight railways across the vast continent, to make way for a national grid of highways, carrying far less energy-efficient, and far more accident-prone, truck and passenger car traffic.”
Air travel was also to move in as a final death blow to the train. The whole industry was heavily subsidized from the outset, from the construction of airports to the founding of new airlines. The jets being promoted were, of course, large consumers of petroleum.
As should be clear, the economic order built around the petrodollar was a major component of America’s grand strategy to control and direct the fate of the world geopolitical system. In addition to the benefits already discussed, there were also others as well, ones which only further served to help advance America’s imperial strategic interests.
For one, the Age of the Petrodollar helped break the back of any momentum labor unions and populist democratic movements had gained back during the heyday of coal.
As we explored in an earlier article called “The Industrial Age and the Politics of Energy”, the economic infrastructure of the coal economy was one that was vulnerable to strikes, protests, and organized democratic claims. The oil industry, by contrast, was much less vulnerable to these challenges: it featured a very different supply chain infrastructure, one that was largely immune to coal’s past vulnerabilities.
By working to handicap the momentum of populist political movements worldwide, the new oil economy ensured that a New Deal-type system of corporate welfare would be adopted around the world, this being implemented in lieu of more drastic economic reorganization and social equality claims that the older generation of coal-era populist movements had originally fought for.
Under the oil age’s new corporate socialism model, an artificially stable social order was engineered into place. In this new social paradigm, the labor classes are promised a minimal amount of political agency, economic welfare support, and living standards guarantee. They are given a small “seat at the table”, in other words. And in return for these privileges, they agree to sell out any hope they may have once had of implementing a more equitable social order.
This is the dynamic historian Timothy Mitchell observes as he considers the changes which took place to the social order of the West during the mid-20th century. The West’s lockstep adoption of New Deal-type corporate socialism models allowed for US imperial interests to all at once co-opt and subjugate the ability of populist political movements and labor organizations to gain a critical mass of power in any of the core countries it controlled.
In this manner, the hope for a new age, one where industrial capitalism and democratic politics would productively combine, was destroyed. Instead of the idealistic vision of industrial democracy, which foresaw the possibility of an educated workforce participating in the management of enterprise and earning a share in its profits, the nations of the world got something else: “industrial management.”
The “industrial management” paradigm forced on the world was one that shared more in common with the feudal order of medieval Europe than anything resembling a democratic way of life. In the industrial management approach, “improvements in pay and terms of employment would (now) depend on workers' accepting speedups, closer supervision, the elimination of jobs, and increased physical exhaustion, rather than any more radical redistribution of the nation's wealth.”
Taylorism and other strategies of co-called “scientific management” were also developed and used, ones which treated the labor force as largely expendable “human resources”, rather than as dignified citizens of a democratic state.
This situation was almost the exact opposite of what was originally hoped for by social advocates during the 19th century, when coal was still dominant and effective democratic campaigns, populist uprisings, and workers rights movements were still possible. But in the new Age of Oil, these possibilities were blocked off and the ideals and hopes associated with them were dismantled. Instead, the labor classes of the West were presented with no other option than to accept the US Empires’ favored “industrial management” model.
To prevent a critical threshold of strikes, protests, and labor uprising from ever gaining enough steam to take place, this economic model was backed by a corporate socialism infrastructure, one that provided just enough economic support to those in need to forestall riots breaking out in the streets. This is the sad situation that was forced upon the labor classes of the world.
In the meantime, the Cold War’s “ideological battle” against communism provided the US Deep State a further excuse to co-opt and retard populist political movements and widespread labor uprising from taking place, ones that may emerge seeking to improve the population’s collective standard of living. Movements like these were branded “communist” and shut down. These moments could not be allowed to gain momentum, as any movement away from the US empire’s chosen petrodollar model was seen as an imminent threat to American national security.
Let’s pause and consider the absurdity of this situation: the United States, in its quest for empire, came to see democracy itself as an enemy, viewing its practice either at home or abroad as a threat to the preservation of its own “national security”. So the world’s power fighting to make the world “safe for democracy” was actually existentially opposed to democracy’s actual practice. Isn’t that ironic?
As a replacement for democratic governance, the grand strategists behind US Empire formulated an alternative paradigm: one based on scientific dictatorship by a central technocratic elite, who would rule over and manage collective society through a process called “regulatory governance”.
In this new model of governance, the seat of social power is moved away from formally acknowledged democratic institutions, its traditional residence, and os instead moved into the hands of a permanent caste of technocrats, who together run the social order as a committee of scientific dictators.
Through this central governing technocratic body, the legal and regulatory framework of society is centrally planned and implemented. This framework then informs the regulations which govern and control actions and behaviors within other sectors of society. In this model, society becomes managed as one vast bureaucratic superstructure.
This approach to regulatory governance is ideal for the task of centrally managing and directing a global economic order centered around the existence of a world cartel system
Given that the US Deep State has been working to establish this type of world cartel system since the early decades of the 20th century, it is clear that the world order America put into place after WWII was one that it had pre-planned and deliberately maneuvered into existence over the course of numerous decades.
This type of in-depth long term planning suggests the presence of a Hidden Hand: a central planning and decision-making authority, one nested somewhere deep within the opaque structure of the US national security state.
It is impossible to know what exactly this Hand Hand looks like, as its presence is deliberately concealed behind numerous levels of security, compartmentalization, and obfuscation. But it definitely exists, and we can infer a few things about its attributes.
For one, its existence recedes back in time to at least the turn of the century, if not before - this is back when the world cartel system first began to be set up; it is also the period when the Ether paradigm of physics begins to be written out of public awareness.
This Hidden Hand would need to possess an advanced understanding of human psychology, sociology, and world geopolitics. It would also need the ability to manage technology trees and scientific paradigms in numerous domains, concealing the most important breakthroughs for itself. And it would almost certainly also possess advanced knowledge about occult mysteries like alchemy and astrology, these being necessary for the successful large-scale transmutation of human society, which appears to be its ultimate goal.
57. The Fossil Fuel Psy-Op
A deeper look into the inner-workings of the petrodollar economy, maneuvered into place by US imperialists at the beginning of the Cold War, provides a valuable case study to test out the “Hidden Hand” theory we’ve been developing. Essentially, this theory states that a secret, central organizing body and planing group - i.e. a “Hidden Hand” - exists at the heart of the US national security state, where it has quietly worked to orchestrate a series of transformations to the world social order.
This Hidden Hand reveals itself behind the many intertwined elements and events that came together to bring about the Age of Petroleum and its corresponding petrodollar economy. These events could not have come about by accident; nor could they have occurred without a multi-decade long planning process. A central, albeit hidden, planning and coordination body had to be behind it; there’s no other way it could have been engineered into existence, considering all that went into building and supporting it.
In other words: somewhere deep within the American NSS was (and is) nested a central technocratic planning and coordination agency, one that has worked in a careful and deliberate manner, over the course of decades, to systematically propel the world system along a certain pre-specified developmental pathway.
The postwar petrodollar economy was one stage of this pathway, with other stages existing both before and after it. Together, these form a long-term pathway of evolutionary progression for world society to follow along to.
Clearly, what we are experiencing now with the Great Reset is the transition of the world system out from one stage of this developmental pathway and into a new, more advanced stage along its continuum - this next stage being the next forward leap in the species’ long-term evolutionary growth sequence.
The Hidden Hand is the entity responsible for driving the world system from one phase to another within this continuum. We begin to perceive its presence when we consider all the intricate elements that came together across time and space to make the postwar petrodollar system possible.
The most obvious players in this game were the American oil corporations and the banks and intelligence agencies they were closely affiliated with. Let’s start with the corporations: ever since the end of WWI, American oil corporations, lead by the NSS-affiliated Rockefeller dynasty, held a near total monopoly on the world oil industry.
As Engdahl further details, at the conclusion of WWII, “seven companies, nicknamed the Seven Sisters, controlled the majority of the oil-producing areas outside the United States and all foreign refineries. They divided up the world markets, sharing pipelines and tankers among themselves, and fixing oil prices worldwide.”
The only way this oil cartel could enjoy such a monopoly was because many other key components of US Empire came together to enforce it. This is not just greed at work: America’s entire imperial grand strategy was premised around its ability to monopolize, manipulate, and control this industry.
As part of the implementation of its grand strategy, the US military maneuvered its forces to encircle the nations of the world with its bases and warships. These weren’t intended to halt the “Soviet threat”; they were intended to mandate America’s chosen petrodollar system. It couldn’t have existed without the military’s enforcement of it. In this way, the military was linked with America’s private banking system and its oil conglomerates as one seamless force of imperial power projection.
Meanwhile, the public was sold on this new oil paradigm by Madison Avenue advertising campaigns, ones extolling the virtues of the “American way of life”- a way of life entirely dependent on the oil economy. These advertising firms sold this image to the masses both at home and worldwide, depicting it as the ultimate ideal for any modern society to achieve.
One region that demanded particularly close attention by American imperialist planners was the Middle East; in many ways, it served as the lynchpin of the whole petrodollar-based world order.
The Middle East was home to the world’s largest supply of oil reserves. Therefore, it was vital that America set up shop in this region in order to control its supplies of oil. This control would be ensured through the establishment of a network of puppet regimes in the region, ones dependent on US support in order to continue their hold on power.
As Timothy Mitchell explains, control over the global oil supply was centered around the US military’s ability to control a comparatively small number of sites - “a few dozen major oilfields, pipelines and terminals, and the handful of bulk tanker fleets that journeyed between them.” These became the object of control for America’s imperialist planners, and a number of intertwined strategies came together to ensure their success.
Ever since the military modernization efforts of World War I, when Western nations converted en masse to a petroleum-fueled warfare model, American intelligence agents and corporate interests have been present in the Middle East, manipulating its politics, corrupting its culture, dictating its economic policies, and controlling the development of its oil industry.
Over time, the US created the OPEC cartel as its chosen puppet regime to manage oil resources flowing out of the region. At US insistence, this cartel made sure that its oil supplies were priced in dollars on the world market. Middle East oil was also refined by US corporations, transported by US owned pipelines and tankers across sea lanes and territories policed by US military bases and navy warships. At every level, the Middle East oil industry was being run as a vassal colony of the American Empire.
One of the main obstacles that America faced in maintaining its petrodollar empire was not only the challenge of maintaining physical control over the Middle East’s oil supplies; it also needed to control the supply of other potential markets, as well as the supply/demand balance of the global oil market.
By manipulating the market’s supply/demand balance, the central planners behind the US Empire could manipulate the overall trajectory of global economic growth.
In this way, the supply-demand balance of the oil trade could be linked into the financial systems’ capacity to engineer boom-bust cycles within the world economy through its debt-lending policies. During boom cycles, debt would be cheap and oil demand would be remain high; while during bust cycles, oil demand would fall and debt would be made expensive.
The US’s ability to manipulate the world economy therefore depended both on its banking systems’ ability to manipulate the flow of debt into the world, and also its oil cartel’s ability to increase or decrease supply (and thus the price of oil) as needed.
To maintain this system, one that allowed its planners to centrally control the direction of the world economy, the US had to preserve dictatorial control over the political systems of the major oil-producing nations, thereby ensuring that their oil industries won’t be nationalized and that America’s oil cartels will remain in control over their supplies.
This explains why dictators and religious autocrats have been propped up and supported by the US over the years in major oil-producing countries. They are ubiquitous because they are easy to control. If they act out, a “coup” or assassination can be ordered, and a new tyrant installed who will play ball with US imperial interests.
But there is also another aspect of the oil economy that America would also be required to gain control over, should it continue to maintain its petrodollar empire. This one is widely overlooked: it involves the challenge of gaining monopoly control over scientific knowledge about what oil is, where it comes from, how it is produced within the Earth, and where the locations of its major deposits are. By monopolizing this information, the American oil cartel and the national security interests behind it, are able to ensure their ability to control the supply-demand equation of the world oil market.
In his book “Myths, Lies, and Oil Wars,” Engdahl describes how a conspiracy between the US oil cartels and various Deep State interests came about in order to conceal certain vital scientific truths about oil’s true origin and the natural geological processes involved in its creation.
As it turns out, coal, oil, and natural gas are not created from the decomposed remains of old decayed plants and animals. Just imagine all the trillions of barrels of oil that have been pumped and sold over the past century: do you really think it is possible for this staggering quantity to have been produced from the decomposed remains of prehistoric plants and animals?
The “fossil fuel” theory of oil is ludicrous and has been sold to us from day one as a modern myth intended to conceal a deeper truth: that oil is actually a renewable resource created from natural geological processes taking place deep within the Earth, ones that gradually flow outward toward the surface, continuously replenishing oil wells in the process.
For this scientific truth to come out, it would destroy the myth that oil is an inherently nonrenewable and therefore scarce resource. This can’t happen, because it threatens the stability of America’s petrodollar empire: the oil price would plummet if countries around the world knew that their oil supplies would gradually replinish - and that other major reserves also existed beyond those concentrated in the Middle East. Because of the implications of what would happen should this scientific knowledge ever come out, this whole paradigm of thinking has been hidden away and concealed, with the myth of “fossil fuels” sold to the public and to academic scientists as a replacement.
In his book, Endgahl outlines several key elements of the true-yet-classified science of oil’s natural generation process, a process which continuously takes place within the Earth. This science is undoubtedly known and understood by an inner technocratic elite with the US NSS, but it is concealed and classified. Consequently, Engdahl had to turn to a non-Western source to obtain his knowledge about it - this being a team of Russian and Ukrainian research scientists who had unexpectedly come to the independent rediscovery of this truth.
The fact that this science has never been brought out and used by Russia to challenge America’s hostile petrodollar order implies that, during the Cold War, a secret level of coordination and collusion was taking place between elite sectors of both nations’ national security states.
In any case, the research scientists Engdahl discovered, perhaps not being aware they weren’t supposed to question the official “fossil fuel” narrative, began peering into the geological processes involved with oil’s creation and came to the firm conclusion that “oil and gas are not generated by decayed biological remains — so-called fossil origin — but have a non-biological origin; they are abiotic or ‘abiogenic’”.
In other words, oil is created from natural geological processes taking place in the Earth. Engdahl explains that these processes “originate not near the surface – as conventional fossil fuel theory assumes – but rather at great depth in the Earth, some two hundred kilometers deep.”
In his book, he quotes Ukrainian scientific researcher V.I. Sozansky, who further describes the processes involved with oil’s natural geological generation: "Hydrocarbon compounds of natural petroleum are generated spontaneously only at the very high pressures found in the deep crust or upper mantle of the Earth. Natural petroleum is a primordial, abiotic fluid which has penetrated the upper parts of the crust from great depth, usually along deep faults.”
Here, Engdahl comments that “the implications of that alternative view were staggering. It implied that with a different geophysical understanding of the Earth and its inner dynamics, oil and gas could be found in abundance all over the planet. That was certainly not what the powerful Anglo-American oil giants and their Wall Street bankers wanted to hear.”
Chances are, upon reading this, this truth about oil is probably new information to you. Like everyone else, you probably assumed that oil emerged as a “fossil fuel”; almost everyone on Earth thinks this; it is a core modern myth we all have unquestionably accepted. And yet, it isn’t true.
Now think of all that must go into the manufacture and selling of this myth. An all-encompassing worldview perception management campaign would be necessary, one involving an interlocked system of collusion arising between the media, academia, regulatory agencies, oil corporations, banks, and the national security state - all would need to come together to manufacture this lie in perpetuity.
And yet this conspiracy must have happened, and this collusion must have taken place, because there’s no possible way that oil is actually a fossil fuel, with the trillions of oil barrels sold over the decades all arising from the non-renewable decomposed remains of prehistoric biotic life forms. So the fact that we all came to believe this lie means that we successfully fell victim to a “worldview perception management” campaign.
These mind control campaigns really do exist, and this story is proof of it. Which begs the question, what other core beliefs that we hold and deeply cherish will also, upon closer investigation, reveal themselves as manufactured modern myths - ones that have nothing to do with reality or the real practice of science? Could vaccines be one of these?
If a lie so blatantly obvious as “fossil fuels” can be sold to us, what other fabrications have we accepted? Just how throughly have we allowed our “worldview perception” to be managed? This is necessary to consider, because if we wish to enter into a new age of truth, we must first shed our attachments to that which isn’t true. And to do this, we have to appreciate the fact that we as human very readily accept non-truths and internalize them into our worldviews.
Propagandists and public relations specialists have known this truth for a very long time and grown rich and powerful acting upon it. But people in general don’t like to admit this about themselves. And as long as this remains the case, we remain vulnerable to falling under the sway of future campaigns like it - such as one promoting the idea of an alien threat. This is a meme that is now being sold to the world during the time I’m writing this. Please, learn from the “fossil fuel” myth, and be critical of this new campaign as it begins its roll out.
The worst case scenario is that it sets the stage for a new “cold war” to be engineered; a cold war positioned against a nebulous “alien threat”. We can’t allow this to happen. Let’s do everything we can to preempt this possibility from taking place.
